My yorkie Ginger is a lazy dog;
She spends her day walking from the couch, to my lap, to her bed, to our bed, and back to my lap––taking very few steps in between.
The only time she’ll get excited is when the word “cookie” is mentioned;
She jumps four feet off the ground, gobbles the delightful dog treat, and jumps back into my lap––snoring within two minutes.
Why can’t I have that life?

Zen Puppies
I love to watch my puppies wake up;
Slow yawns, then-
Drop, roll over and wait for belly rubs.
Harnesses on, they eagerly wait by the front door.
Once we're back from their morning walk,
They twirl for cookies,
Followed by a hop, circle dance to the food bowl (they each have their own special way of eating.)
Finally, with a full belly, they run to their doggy beds in the living room:
The yorkie, Ginger, soaks up the sun, while the shih tzu, Lily, lays around watching the squirrels outside.
It's a wonderful zen moment.

Man's Best Friend...
When I come home tired from a long day,
there you are waiting by the foot of my bed;
Tail wagging,
Ears at standing attention,
Head cocked ever so gently to the right,
Dark lined eyes wide open saying, "I'm ready to love you now!"
When I'm too tired to wake up at six in the morning,
there you are hopping around the bed;Paws scratching at my face,
Mouth wide from yawning,
Head cocked ever so gently to the left,
Dark lined eyes half asleep saying, "I'm ready for you to love me now!"
Your ability to know when I'm sad is remarkable,
Your willingness to cheer me up is wonderful,
Your unconditional love makes you my perfect little yorkie...
Ginger, you're my angel.

Ginger Gets A Bath.
My little yorkie Ginger hates taking baths.
She'll scurry side to side like a little sewer rat.
The entire bathroom is covered with a layer of soapy, watery foam-
Finally the last of the shampoo is rinsed from her coat;
Wow! That took longer than either of us wanted it to...
Now comes the fun part-
The blow dryer!
The shaking and whining begins.
Despite her magnificent struggle,
my powerful, yet gentle and loving grasp wins!
The dryer works its warming magic-
The adorable and fluffy fur ball is sparkling clean.
She is ecstatic to have her well deserved cookie.
Peace is restored in her luxurious doggy life!
...until the next time.
