Cartoon Thursday

If it wasn’t already complexity evident by my chosen profession;
I’m a grown up kid.
And because I work on the weekends, I have to find time for cartoon watching.
[Enter Netflix]
Scrolling through my cue:
Archer, American Dad, Family Guy, Scooby-Doo––get the picture?
Animation Nation.

Note To Inner Self:

Whenever you want to feel like a kid:
Turn on cartoons,
Pour a bowl of bran flakes, add honey, cinnamon and soy milk;
Dive in!
Instant sugary sweet childhood sense memory, without the processed sugar and preservatives!

Saturday Morning Sans Work-

I love Saturday mornings-
I rarely get one off, but when I do...
Look out Sponge Bob, I'm watching you.
Breakfast in bed, followed by a long walk with the puppies.
After that, who knows what will happen.
I have no plans, and I don't care.

Creativity At Work

Family is gone,
There's work to be done.
Writing and editing to meet my deadline.
I'm grateful for the fun I had,
But now it's time to get to work!
Just as soon as I watch these cartoons.
After all, it is Saturday.

I Did Nothing...

Lazy.
I feel fat and gross;
Sat on the couch most of the day watching television...
I LOVE cartoons.
Hung over from last night-
I sure can't party like I used too!
Thank God for pancakes.
Note to self:
Self, you cannot continue to waste your weekends...
You're getting older, and life isn't slowing down!
But I've got to be honest, I really had a lovely day of nothing.
Saturdays rock.
They can be anything you need them to be.
