It's hard to believe that thirteen years have passed since that unimaginable day in New York City.
I woke up to the sound of crying, my roommate had been up earlier than I, and saw the first plane fly into the World Trade tower.
We watched in horror as the second plane flew into the second tower-
We knew then it was no accident.
More than the fear, the overwhelming smell of smoke and destruction, and the looming uncertainty, I will remember how my New Yorkers and America united that day.
I was never more grateful to have my friends, who after that day, will forever be my family. We cried together. We comforted one another. We prayed. We told stories, which turned into much needed laughter.
On that day, we lost our innocents. Through it all, I had my friends, who from then on, I consider members of my family.

Always Remember
Twelve years ago today,
Heroes emerged to save the lives of innocent victims.
New York City gathered against hate and fought fear with love and peace.
America united-
Freedom comes at a price;
Today, I am grateful for all of those selfless men and women who continue to fight to keep our country the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Remembering
Ten years ago today, my roommate woke me up in a panic. We sat in our mid-town Manhattan apartment crying as we watched the events unfold on television.
I'll never forget the smell in the air that night, or how it lingered as a reminder weeks after the tragic day.
My heart will never understand such an evil act. My mind will never be able to release the images, smells and sights that I witnessed...
But today, I want to send love, energy and prayers to the victims and survivors of 9/11.
To all of our uniformed heroes- I give you my undying gratitude. Thank you to all the men and women who dedicated their lives to serving the United States of America.

Peace
Today, I remember;
I pray for the victims, survivors and the men and women still serving to keep our country safe.
I celebrate our freedom.
I honor my responsibilities to contribute to a brighter, more peaceful, evolved global humanity.
I give thanks for the opportunities provided to me as a United States citizen-
I strive to encourage tolerance among people who continue to hate.
