Friendship

Catching up with old friends,
We shared New York City in our twenties––our youth;
Bonded for life like family.
Like sipping an expensive bottle of champagne, I savor the evolution of our relationship.
Neither time or distance will discourage our love.

City to the Suburbs

Riding the train into Brooklyn with my friends, who swore they’d never move to Brooklyn (back when we were in our twenties), I discovered that I appreciate distance from the city life.
Interesting how age makes you appreciate space;
In life, love, friendship, and housing.

NYC in the AM

New York in the early morning is (dare I say) calm;
No honking taxis,
The streets are empty,
Times Square shines half as bright.

On the way to the airport I got sentimental-
I miss the good moments I had while living in the city.

[Then]

Slam on the breaks and barley miss hitting a nasty, angry man crossing the street.
The moment passed.
LA is waiting for me,
But I'll always have my memories!

Walk, Walk, Jazz Run, Step Tilt.

The life of a chorus dancer is still the same;
Show up,
Sign in,
Warm-up,
Learn the combo,
Dance,
[Cuts]
Sing,
And scene!
When they're fun (like today's audition for Elf) they remind me of how much I love musical theatre and performing on stage.
I made it to the end of the audition, and the director and choreographer seemed to enjoy my performance, so fingers crossed, I get the job.
Which I REALLY need right now,
Because the 42 block walk home was very humbling.
Ten years later, and I'm still shuffling off to an audition with a backpack and bittersweet attitude.
You can take the chorus boy out of New York, but apparently he'll just keep living like he did there!

Random Thought:

After spending a wild night in LA with one of my oldest friends; dancing, laughing and reminiscing about our lives on tour it occurred to me:
I got to party like a Rock Star in Chicago, Europe, New York City and Los Angeles in my Twenties.
That's fucking awesome!

Weekends In NYC

I love weekends in New York City.
Coffee first thing in the morning.
A walk around the Upper West Side-
Lunch with friends.
Window shopping on 5th Avenue.
Second coffee of the day, most likely at a trendy new spot in SoHo.
Back to the apartment to freshen up...
Third coffee of the day before grabbing a cab to head to mid-town for an early dinner.
Arrive at the theatre to catch a show.
Night cap and warm cookies and vanilla ice cream at Joe Allen's.
Stumble to the subway and wait too long for a train.
Back to the apartment to crash...
Wake up and do the whole thing again tomorrow!
Weekends- definitely the best part of NYC!

Dance Life.

I grew up in a dance studio.
I spent five hours a day in a mirror working towards perfection.
When the time came, I left home and followed my passion.
I danced from stage to stage around the world.
Eventually I leaped to New York City.
I discovered a new studio to call home.
A new stage where I could soar.
When I left the city, I left a piece of my heart behind.
I never looked back.
Now, ten years later and back in New York the familiarity is instantaneous.
The smell of sweat and soul.
The rhythm of the music reminding me how to breath,
The pulse in my entire body reminding me I'm alive!
Surrounded by a new generation of dreamers.
The dancer in us will never die.

What's All The Gossip About?!?

What's more hilarious than a Star Jones sex tape?
A Group Production's latest parody!
This is by far my favorite video that we've created to date!
We even wrote, produced and performed two original songs for this one!
I hope you'll all enjoy:
Gossip Girl The Parody!

New York to Los Angeles-

Started today in New York;
Ending the day in Los Angeles-
Everything in between;
crazy,
wild,
fun,
with a splash of jet lagged...
But I'm happy to be home!
