What happens when you stick three outgoing choreographers in a room together with a bottle of wine?
I gabfest of epic proportions takes place.
Last night––after a five hour travel day, two master classes, and three hours of solo rehearsals––I laughed my ass off with two colleagues.
It’s refreshing to be in a room with likeminded, über talented artists who have heart and soul where an ego might be...
Just another reminder to constantly seek and surround yourself with positive creative energy!

Truth on Tour® (Again) 3.3

Six hours of rehearsal yesterday;
Lends itself to an unwillingness to get out of bed today!
On the count of three I have to get up!
1. 2. Hits snooze––twenty minutes pass––3.
I’m up and in the shower.
Time to make the donuts!

Dance Life

Standing in a room full of talented artists who tell stories with their bodies;
Men and women who have inspired me on my journey as a dancer–turned–choreographer, I take a deep breath and smile––I’m standing shoulder to shoulder with my heroes and we’re connecting, laughing, and sharing our passion.
We’re gathered to celebrate movement on television––and without it, where would I have found my passion?
I grew up in front of a TV set; studying the moves of my favorite actors, singers, and dancers; now I’m collaborating with them.

Truth on Tour: 2.4

The days are filled with dance;
The nights are loaded with food, friends, and more dance...
In my mind I feel eighteen;
Physically I feel like a grandpa––but I push through.
My soul feels alive, grateful, and at peace.

Truth on Tour: 2.3

The only disadvantage to working with talented choreographers and dancers from around the world is that once you’ve gathered for creative conversation and laughter––with plenty of wine involved––no one wants to go to bed.
I may not be getting enough sleep, but I’m having a marvelous time bonding with talented, intelligent, thoughtful people; and with all of that creative energy, who needs sleep?

Find The Light

Mesmerized by the glowing ambers;
The flame dances,
Reminding me to see my passion everywhere.
Ignited and ready to blaze in the new year!

The Pulse

Twirling emotion,

Dancers feel everything;

Music guides our breath.

Solo Saturday

Nine to nine;

Dolly's got nothing on me.

Coaching and cleaning choreography.

Travel Day

Waiting at the gate like vultures;
Everyone wants to be in the first boarding group.
I blame roller bags.

An Education

Watching young artists apply my note;
We both grow.

Another Week, Another Airport

The birds are chirping in unison;
They’re so happy to be up at 6AM.
I am not––but it’s all part of the lifestyle.
Off to spread my creative energy; Pittsburgh look out, I’m headed your way!

It’s a simple phrase, one which I’ve used a lot this week.
I’ve never felt such a genuine outpouring of support, praise, and admiration;
Teaching has always been something I’ve done as my “day job”.
It’s only now that I’m discovering that dancers and choreographers actually respect my approach to movement.
I’m overwhelmed with gratitude––when I wrote my book I had hoped that I might have an impact on someones dance career.
Working with dancers from around the world this week has single handedly reinvigorated my passion.
Thank you to all of the dancers, choreographers, and teachers who have reminded me that dance continues to be my pulse.
Let’s do this!

It's as if time stood still.

The only noticeable difference is the beautiful evolution of creativity and confidence.

I love my friend.
