The Light in You

When the negative energy is overwhelming;
The mind becomes concentrated on giving into the doubt.
When you are surrounded by darkness externally;
Close your eyes and find the light inside––it will always be there.
We have the tools to triumph in even the darkest storms.

Follow Light.

The lighthouse stands tall and bright in the pitch-black horizon.
In total darkness, it is impossible to miss the light.
Whether we seek it or not is our choice;
Follow the light to a safe harbor––or ignore it, and collide with the inevitable.
There are warnings throughout our life, but only those who welcome the light will find a happy landing.

When In Doubt...

If you’ve ever experienced a moment that falls into place perfectly once you let go of the fear––you'd want to tap into that ability every time there’s an issue, right?
But human nature will more often than not, have us turn our concern or doubt into fear; if we obsess and panic, it will motivate us?
I used to think if I wasn’t stressing out about something––I probably didn’t care enough.
Thankfully, I’ve learned that the more I care, the more I should release the doubt and Faith it out.
Trust that I have done the work and will know what to do when the time comes; remember that there is a higher power working to guide me where I’m meant to be, and release everything else.

Courage

In order to live a full life––I have to release the ideas and expectations I perceive from society;
Self-inflicted thoughts bully me into unproductive patterns.
Staying aware, present in the moment and open to the opportunity that exist today; not waiting for a bigger, better, brighter experience tomorrow.
Every adventure starts NOW and leads to a journey that is more magnificent than any plan or dream.

Comfort Zone

Push past the Comfort Zone;
Living small, safe, and secure will not lead me to new opportunities.
Shine bright, be fearless, and adventurous.
It may cause embarrassment, pain, or insecurities to arise;
Only then can we evolve into the person we were born to be.

I Am

I am here in this moment;
Nothing more, nothing less––
The past is behind me and cannot be changed,
The future is in the distance and cannot be promised.
I exist in this moment: Aware, Grateful, Focused; seeking enlightenment.

Two Choices:

The opportunity always exists to be grateful for what I have,
rather than lamenting over the things that I want.
The advantage of celebrating my victories, however small, provides an energy that usually leads to unexpected adventures.
vs.
Laying around sulking, which inevitably lends itself to: overeating, weight-gain, complaining, a bitter attitude, a bleak outlook, depression and an overall lack of creativity.
Life is too short for that shit!

Daily Reminder:

Remove the doubt and take action!
Remove the doubt and take action!
Remove the doubt and take action!
Remove the doubt and take action!
Remove the doubt and take action!
[Repeat 15 more times]
Do this daily and you will be shocked how much more you can accomplish!

Daily Reminder:

Stress and fear distract me from success and Faith.
There is always room for positive action.

Shameless!

Reading about how “shame” effects an artist-
As children we are shamed by people who are afraid of exposing a truth.
Artist’s uncover truth and shed light on uncomfortable subject matter,
and this is often why some of the greatest works of art receive the most criticism.
Interesting, I’ve been “shamed” a lot in life.
Somehow I’ve managed to ignore it, and blissfully continue creating.
I’m not afraid to be laughed at, if it means I get to do what I love.
I am shameless!
(Right at this moment of discovery while reading the chapter in The Artist’s Way)
I look out from the balcony off my living room and see a 15 story Showtime billboard advertising, ”Shameless.”
Wow! God has an awesome sense of humor! …and sends a clear sign!

Trust

Gloom and doom is no way to wake.
Today's possibilities are endless!
Releasing the negative energy will allow room for positive action.
Stay focused on the things you can accomplish,
Set aside the problems that seem overwhelming,
And trust that everything will fall into place like it has EVERY time before.
It's cheesy, but true.
Faith always shines through.

Don't Worry Be Happy!

I remember the song well...
I used to hear the phrase a lot growing up!  I was a natural worrier.
I've finally accepted the simple fact that being Happy takes effort.
"Happiness" is a concentrated choice to release the;
fear, self-doubt, insecurity, preconceived ideas, hate and negative energy.
Life is truly more enjoyable when I make the choice to
release negative thinking (including what others think or expect of me.)
I don't think it's delusional-
I think it's necessary to thrive in a positive environment!

This Too Shall Pass... And other positive sayings...

I've made it through the better part of my life repeating mantras-
I have a quote, saying or state of mind for every situation.
Nevertheless, there are always those days when nothing seems to work...
It's in those moments when I really have to close my eyes,
Take a deep breath in,
And release all the bullshit!
Life is too short to be caught up in things that won't matter in two weeks.
Every challenge, setback, fear or problem has always been resolved.
That resolution comes no matter how much I worry or dread it.
In fact, the sooner I release the shitty, negative, nasty feelings and focus on
positive action-
The faster my "issue" becomes a non-issue!
LIFE IS TOO SHORT!
