Back To LA

Another creative adventure is finished;
A fast and furious collaboration that will produce another year of artistic growth.
I’m grateful know and work with so many talented creatures;
Now back to LA, where creativity is often overshadowed by fame.

That Feeling...

When you wake up and sit down to coffee, eggs, and your face on the inside cover page of a magazine;
Of course “it’s not about the fame or money”, but it’s a completely validating feeling to see yourself in print!
I’ve invested more than twenty years pursuing a creative career––and these little highlights act as motivation to continue to training, auditioning, and evolving as a person and artist.
All in stride though––in three days this town will forget about the article, and demand that I answer, “what’s next?”
But for today, I’ll enjoy the spotlight!

Awareness

I live in a town full of glamor, fame and ego-driven success;
Los Angeles has a reputation (almost as famous as the movie stars who live here) for being fake.
Admittedly, there are a lot of bodies that have been enhanced, résumés that have been exaggerated and conversations that are less than honest.
Despite the negative aspects, Southern California is surrounded with art, culture, massive mountains and an impressive coastline.
The sun shines, wildlife thrives and those who seek adventure can find it anywhere in the form of almost anything from snowboarding to surfing, opera to  art openings.
So how does a location with so many extraordinary features invoke such negative attention.
Let’s be honest––everything ego-driven in LA can be said of New York City, Paris, London, Rome; yet Hollywood takes the blame.
Los Angeles (the city itself) has become an analogy for the people who comprise the city.
How does fixating on the negative aspects of a circumstance; whether it be a person, city or dream serve me?
How can I shift my perspective to help others become aware of the beauty that surrounds them––wherever they are?

LA Luster

Sunshine and blue skies,
Swimming in a sea of fame;
Dream or make-believe?

Red Carpet Ready!

Flashbulbs,

Fashion,

Fame.

E! Red Carpet arrivals.

Friends gather and gossip.

Who will win?

Who will act like a drunk fool?

Who will inspire me to continue my quest?

I love the Golden Globes!

Sad Day for the Music Industry

Whitney Houston passed away today.
Sadly, for me it comes as no surprise.  Still, it is heartbreaking.
Talk about a tragedy~
Her talent was enormous.  Unfortunately, so was her fame.
I'm not a celebrity, but I can only imagine how easy it is to get lost in "YesLand."
Anyone that watched the Oprah interview last year could see that Whitney was still in pain and most likely on drugs.  It was a cry for help on national television, and not even Oprah called her out on it.
Talent. Ego. Fame. Money.
It can be a lethal combination.
I'm devastated that Whitney had so many people who loved her, but clearly not enough to convince her to get help, so that she might love herself.
Sad day in music.

I"M IN PAIN!

I'm in so much pain I can't even see straight!
My wisdom teeth are pushing through my gums, and because of it, my entire jaw feels like it's on fire...
Sending me reeling out of control on a self-doubt hate spiral!
I hate allowing negative thoughts or fears to enter my mind.
Making my eyes well up with tears, and my heart feel like it's breaking.
I have to "make it" soon-
If not just for the burning desire inside of me;
Then for better health insurance and more money!
