I slept in thinking that I would feel rested and fresh;
Instead, I have a headache, my face looks like I was hit by a semi-truck, and I missed my morning yoga class––so I feel soft and lazy.
Sometimes you just can't win;
In those moments, it’s important to stay positive:
I’m positive I need to go to Starbucks and recharge.

Stay Focused
It’s so easy to slip back into deeply rooted ideas and habits;
They’re safe, comfortable, and familiar––they are also destructive, otherwise we would not have invested the conscious energy in resolving to try something different.
Evolution of the mind and spirit takes conscious effort and dedication.
We all have the opportunity to grow as individuals and expand our potential;
But it requires work to unlock our preset ideas and discover our true selves.
“You are most powerful, most effective, when you are completely yourself.”
––Eckhart Tolle

Back To The Grind
It’s always a bit of a challenge getting motivated after a week of holiday festivities;
I’m comforted by the fact that I leave for New York City in two days, however I realize I have about six days worth of work to process.
Lists, goals, and plans won’t help me know––I have to dive headfirst into the deep end.
Here goes...

Inspiration or Not...
Some days the inspiration flows like beer at the Super Bowl;
Other times, it's as tough as a steak at Sizzler to dream up a topic.
The point of a daily creative writing, is to maintain the focus and habit.
So here I sit at my computer without a clue as to what I'm talking about.
Rambling senselessly like many of the winners of last nights Golden Globe awards.
Perhaps that is why I'm without a spark––aside from Tina and Amy's perfectly timed dazzling display of wit, snark and intelligence. The show was boring and uninspired.
Proving that everybody has "off days" even in Hollywood.

Creative Writing for Artistic Growth
After contributing to a daily blog for over five years, I can honestly say that providing content requires imagination, creativity, and a willingness to release the idea of perfection and settle for, "you did it!"

Nothing For Granted...
When you're not feeling great about yourself-
Change something small.
Get a haircut or try wearing something you have in your closet, but mix in a fresh new spin;
Little tweaks bring a fun new energy to your life.
If that doesn't work, close your eyes and remember all the huge things we take for granted, like: walking, talking, oh and breathing!

Creative Habit
It's not enough to "feel" creative-
You have to take that urge and use it everyday.
The artist in you grows with action!

What Do You Do When:
You wake up and you have absolutely nothing to write about?
You sit staring at your computer monitor, hoping for inspiration -
When that doesn't happen, you spend another forty-five minutes combing through Facebook.
Getting lost in a vicious cycle of reality TV clips, YouTube cat videos, and Huffington Post articles!
Still, nothing.
But you realize you have to start your day. (You woke up an hour early, remember?!)
So you find your way back to your blog, and you start typing.
This is the result.

I've Got The Spirit!
I woke up today feeling slightly deflated-
The past two weeks I've been allowing the negative energy
to slowly trickle back into my day to day;
I know that life is full of ups and downs,
More important, I remember that I have the choice;
I can give into the fear and doubt,
Or I can choose to release the negative energy and
make room for the light.
Pure positive energy and action.
I went to church this morning, and I was uplifted by
an energetic priest visiting from India.
He reminded me that life is full of opportunity, love
and if I allow it- the spirit of God.
The priests words filled my mind, heart and soul.
I am blessed with; my health, partner, family, friends, puppies,
a beautiful home, and the ability to wake up every shingle day and
pursue what I love!
I live my passion.
My adventure has purpose-
I choose to release the dark and let my spirit shine.
