Another Week, Another Airport

The birds are chirping in unison;
They’re so happy to be up at 6AM.
I am not––but it’s all part of the lifestyle.
Off to spread my creative energy; Pittsburgh look out, I’m headed your way!

Airport Starbucks

The line for Starbucks is always twice as long as the TSA.
Both are full of people who are cranky and never ready when their turn comes.
At least with Starbucks you get a jolt of caffeine...
All the TSA has ever given me was a really aggressive 3rd base!

Travel Day

When you take a Super Shuttle to save $5;
And the shuttle is twenty minutes late and has ten stops to make—that is rage!

Life On Tour

Travel days are rough.  I'm up too early, and I stay up too late.
Life on the road seems fun;
Until you're stuck there.

Life On Tour

4AM wake-up call: Gross.
TSA Pre-check: Not gross.
No line at Starbucks: Priceless.

Random Observation

The interesting thing about sleep is when you go without it long enough-
You really start to believe you don't need it.

Airport Case Study

I never get tired of people watching.
Especially at an International airport-
Europeans are always well dressed and smell good.
Asians are always quite and efficient.
Americans are always poorly dressed, loud and eating something.
These are all generalizations, of course.
Still, I find it crazy that in every culture, young and old, EVERYONE is plugged into a power source... or desperately searching for an outlet!

Line Up!

I hate waiting in lines!

It started at Disneyland when I was five-

And continues to torture me to this day.

Especially at the airport.

Boarding the plane...

rage. Rage. #RAGE!!!

The Glamorous Life on Tour

So begins my five week tour of the United States of America.
I will spend half my time in and out of airports-
Thankfully my company decided to book me on several different airlines, so I won't be able to enjoy the benefits of airline-mileage programs. #Sarcasm
Additionally, I'm thrilled for the five-plus hour layovers I will get to enjoy.
Most of all, I'm excited for the lack of sleep I'll get between now and the middle of August!

Travel Day

Awake, but not conscious.

Sitting at another airport sipping on a watered down soy latte from Starbucks.

Surrounded by a small group of regular travelers (I can tell by the roadmap that marks their face and zombie eyes.)

I feel like a member of The Breakfast Club! Only our group would be called The Sleepless, Worn-down, Tired of this Lifestyle BUT Grateful for A Job Club.

Instead of getting detention we get delayed!

The Joys Of Airport Travel

When you're willing to spend $6 on a microscopic bottle of water at the airport, you know you're dehydrated!

Random

Running into the #DanceMoms on my way to judge in Oklahoma...

So random and yet so perfect!

I always smile when God sends a sign like that.

Dear Southwest

Dear Southwest,
You suck!
Why don't you hire more employees?
I hate you.

A Trip To The Airport

Saying goodbye at an airport is always rough.
Sitting in morning rush hour traffic for an hour and a half on the way home, is brutal.
Getting to Starbucks just in time for them to run out of my favorite breakfast sandwich, is RAGE-worthy!
Who knew a trip to the airport could be so disappointing?

LAX to NYC

TSA is always packed,
Just one bag so I am stacked!
Through the jam and now in line at Starbucks,
Next, the line at Southwest...
Lines everywhere at LAX.

Airport Goodbyes

Once again at an airport.
I've always associated airports with sadness-
Despite the fact that happy times come from visiting family and friends,
Not to mention awesome vacations...
Yet my lasting memories of airports is always from the end of a wonderful visit.
Saying goodbye.
This trip is especially difficult, because I had to say goodbye to my gram for the last time.
I'm always thankful for new adventures, but going to the airport is always bittersweet.
I've spent my adult life leaving people curbside.
I'll never get used to it.
But I'm learning to deal with it.
...very slowly.
