My heavy eyelids can hardly ease the burning dryness;
The lack of sleep is killing me.
Too many airline seats and hospital beds.
I’m happy to live a full life, I just don’t want to die from exhaustion.
It’s time for a break!

OVEReating.
I’m over eating!
No, seriously I’m overeating and I’ve reached a point where I can’t even look at food without getting sick.
I never thought I’d live to see this day.
Let the juice cleans begin!

Home Sweet Home
They say "home is where the heart is" and while I believe that it's true, you can find happiness, love and family anywhere you are-
There's nothing better than walking into you home after being away for a long period of time.
The joy of being greeted by your family, my puppies give extra long cuddles.
The comfort of knowing where everything is in the kitchen.
But most of all, my BED!
I might actually get a full nights sleep tonight, for the first time in four weeks...
It's great to be home.

Road Trip
Cramped car,
Crappy junk food,
Beautiful scenery,
Bugs flying at the windshield,
Asshole drivers,
Tired truckers,
Spending too much money on gas,
Unclean rest stops.
Ah, the beauty of a road trip!

Another Life Lesson From The Road
When you wake up in your hotel room before the sun is up-
It's best not to look in the mirror.
Instead, avoid turning on lights, and jump into the shower.
Once you've allowed the water to warm your face (approximately 20 minutes) continue getting ready as normal.
Be prepared, you still might look like an alien, but at least the crust around your eyes will be softer!

Travel Days
Airports are the worst aspect of life on the road.
TSA aside-
Dealing with bitter, jaded, nasty airline employees suck.
I get it. You're tired of the endless parade of uneducated, uncivilized, overweight assholes who don't have a clue...
But:
A. YOU chose this job.
B. and more important, I am not one of those people aforementioned.
So slap on a phony smile and take care of your customers.
Please and thanks (with a phony smile back!)

Perk Of Traveling
I'm not always thrilled about traveling every weekend-
Flying is rough, especially the TSA nonsense.
Occasionally I have the opportunity to see friends that I've made over the course of my career.
Last night I enjoyed a delicious dinner, and even more exceptional conversation with two of my favorite dance colleagues.
I woke up (too early) and rather than hating this aspect of my job, I reminded myself that with all of the downfalls, this job has its perks, too!
Life is all in the outlook.
I choose to find the gratitude this morning.
Now, I'm off to spend fourteen hours in a theatre, I'm still searching for the positive affirmation on that one!

Waking Up Is Hard To Do!
Worked all day,
Up all night,
Alarm goes off and I want to cry.
Late to bed and early to rise-
Life on the road,
UGH!

Travel Day.
Out the door in time to stop at Starbucks!
Airport is empty-
Speed through TSA,
Get to the gate and run into a friend.
Just enough time for a quick hello!
Time to board...
I appreciate travel days when they're like this!
Hopefully a great sign for a breezy weekend!

Life On The Road...
Bloated and tired,
Irritable would be a gross understatement.
Food full of preservatives-
(No wonder business men and woman are so anxious to tackle people to board flights first...)
They want to make sure they claim their seat(s), armrest and legroom before the rest of us, because they’re so unhappy and obese from eating shit on a daily basis.
The lack of sleep is what kills me.
NO matter how hard I try, I can’t get a good nights sleep in a hotel.
(Not even on vacation.)
My eyes look puffy. You could literally pack for a two week trip with the bags under my eyes!
And I hate to fly.
Ugh, life on the road is no home.

Life On The Road...
One of the many challenges of working in the entertainment industry is the travel factor.
As an artist, you have to go where the work is... Sometimes you get to work in the city you live, but most of the time you're on an airplane flying to some random location for various amounts of time.
After awhile you get used to living out of a bag. Missing your friends and loved ones. Eating crappy fast food or chain food and NOT working out.
But the toughest part is leaving my puppies!
They're so cute and innocent. They hate seeing the bags packed. Even if I go out of my way to pack at the last minute and hide the bags in the closet, they pick up on the energy...
It breaks my heart! Of course they have no way of knowing that I have to leave town for work, nor do they process the amount of time I'll be gone. Nevertheless, their little puppy feelings get soar when I leave. Lily gets tears in her eyes, and Ginger just mopes around for a few days.
The upside, returning from a week out of town! I get pounced, licked and loved for a soiled thirty minutes each! I guess if you have to leave, it's rewarding to return to such an amazing greeting!
Sure beats a welcome home sign!
