Overachiever's Reminder:

There is a time for work and a time for play;
A space for creative growth and a cushion for rest;
An opportunity to seek new horizons and the gratitude of accepting where you are;
A moment to silence the chaos and be still, eventually welcoming the joyous music of the birds networking in the rustling trees.
Balance is available everywhere at anytime––when we remember to breathe.

Life Lesson:

When the sun is shining bright there’s only one thing to do:
Go to the pool!
Finding a balance between work and play can be difficult;
But with twenty-four hours in a day––it’s not impossible to set aside two hours for a relaxing recharge.
It will help inspire creativity, and perhaps motivate you to start attacking your goals from a new point of view.

Weekend Warrior

Work, promote, play!
I love a weekend where I get paid to have fun.
Critiquing dancers, signing books at Barnes & Noble,
And best of all––spending a fabulous evening with my aunt!
My life has been filled with laughter, love, adventure and encouragement in large part because of her, and I last night was no exception!
Thankfully not everything stays in Vegas... I’m bringing my light up hat and a few bucks back with me this trip!

Family Time!

When family comes to visit, I can hardly contain my excitement!
Unconditional love and support, aside-  the members of my family are wild, crazy, and passionate.  They all have big personalities, too.
Especially my mom.
Whether we hang out at home watching movies and eating popcorn or go on a lavish shopping spree at the mall, the bonding time is irreplaceable.
Now that I'm an adult, I appreciate my family more than ever-
I realize I would be lost without them.
Even when they piss me off, I'd still rather spend my time with them than almost anyone else.
...I said almost.

Observation on Balance

When you have a full day,
There's no time to play!
Unless you work your ass off to shit done, so that you can sneak away from work to go to a Friday Happy Hour and a date night movie...

Life on The Road: The View is Nice

Occasionally, I complain about the irritations of life on the road;
Let's be honest, traveling for work is as enjoyable as going to the dentist for a root-canal.
So when I wake up in a new city, and roll over in my somewhat lumpy and uncomfortable hotel-bed and watch the sunrise over a glistening lake and soaring mountains, I have to admit that I have a pretty awesome life.
My "office" is never in the same place for more than a week.
I get paid to see the world, and however exhausting travel can be-I still appreciate the perks!

Sundays In LA

It's rare when I get to enjoy a Sunday morning at home with my family.
Usually I'm waking up in a hotel bed in a random city across the country; getting ready to spend my day in a theatre.
So I'm taking advantage of this elusive day:
Breakfast in bed,
Walking to Starbucks with the puppies,
Hike in the Hollywood Hills,
Pooltime,
Dinner with friends,
and finally a late night movie in bed!
Full circle.
I love Sundays in LA.

Note To Self:

When life seems overwhelming-
Remember your vacation on Hawaii,
Close your eyes,
Visualize the calming sea,
Release the fears that are holding you back,
Trust in the plan that is set in motion,
And shut the F_@K up and get to work, (so that you can pay for that trip to Hawaii)!

Another Holiday Weekend #Working!

I think working on a holiday weekend is my punishment for not having an office job to report to everyday.
I don't have a corner office in trendy building in LA, but don't get it twisted...
I work seven days a week-
It's called the #HustleOfAnArtist.
Writing, organizing, storyboarding, re-writes, shooting, editing, posting, social media, networking, researching, teaching, judging, choreographing, gigging to pay the bills, etc.
True, I don't punch in on a time clock,
My hours never stop-
#AlwaysOnTheJob in order to succeed.

Play Hard, Work Harder

In Las Vegas I let myself go-

I ate to much and had some laughs,

Now it's time to get back in yoga.

I've got to work out and get rid of this FAT!

A Saturday Off! *Awesome

In my line of work, it's unusual to have the weekend off.
I'm going to milk today for all it's worth!
Starbucks social time,
A trip to the mall for some retail therapy,
Hot tub hang time,
An adventure with the puppies,
Dinner with my bug,
Topped off hosting a game night with friends!
#PerfectSaturday!

Random Thought: Homework

No matter how old you are, homework sucks!
The result of doing homework is a nice reward-
However, the more you accomplish, the harder you have to work.

#LifeIsShort

It's easy to find activities, projects and work that NEEDS to get done;
Everywhere I look there's a script that needs tweaked, footage that needs edited or paperwork that needs to be completed.
It's difficult to ignore those tasks, and allow myself time to breathe-
Today, I'm taking the day off!
I'm sure I'll feel guilty tomorrow, when I have twice as much work to do, but that's tomorrow's problem!

Day OFF!

I'm not going to feel guilty about taking the day off.
Primarily because I haven't had a break in over two weeks.
Even the most dedicated overachievers deserve a some down time-
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to post my social media, journal, check the daily trades, send out a few emails and return three phone calls before my day off begins!

Early To Rise, Means Nap Time!

I woke up at the crack of dawn.
If I get my work done early in the day,
I have more time to take an afternoon nap!
Wow, I just became my grandpa.

Getting Fresh on Mondays.

Some people hate Mondays.
I love them -
A fresh start to a week full of opportunity and adventure!
Of course, this is my positively annoying 2014 outlook speaking.
But I think it's working for me!
I've already achieved most of my goals that I set for this week and it's not even 10 AM.
That means my affirmative energy is working...
Or I need to set BIGGER goals.
Either way, I'm happy!

The Year Ahead!

It's my lifelong mission to organize EVERYTHING.
The start of a new year presents a plethora of tasks:
Filing away last years crap,
Rearranging the office,
Labeling new file folders,
Marking important dates on the calendar,
OCDing about all of the projects and tasks I NEED to accomplish.
Where most people would spend their weekend enjoying the 75 degree sun in LA; I will be in the house crossing off the checklist!
One "To Do" at a time.
Maybe, (just maybe) I'll let myself go to Starbucks for a mid-day latté...
But not until I create my 2014 spreadsheet, and finalize my plan of attack for a well balanced new year!
#Balance will only come with a serious schedule!

Puppies Need Love Too!

You try getting work done with an adorable puppy on your lap!
I woke up this morning with every intention of getting some things done around our new home.
Instead, I find myself sitting on the sofa with my Shih Tzu on my lap and my Yorkie wedged between my thigh and the sofa!
I think they're trying to tell me something.  Perhaps if they could talk they'd say, "Stop ignoring us!  You've been so focused on fixing up our new home, you haven't even given us a bone."
I get it puppies.  I need to spend some quality time with you.
So today, instead of vacuuming, cleaning the kitchen, changing the faucet in the guest bathroom or working on my book (that is due December 31st!) I'm going to cuddle with you!
After all, puppies deserve attention and quality time too!
